FAQs

  • Yes. I am in-network with Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, and Kaiser Northern California (NorCal) health plans.

A few important things to know about Kaiser specifically: I am contracted with Kaiser NorCal commercial and Medi-Cal plans, but I am not contracted with Kaiser Medicare or Kaiser Southern California (SoCal) plans.

  • My standard session fee is $150 for a 50-minute session. If you are using insurance, your cost will depend on your specific plan's copay or deductible.

  • Please reach out to discuss your situation. I want therapy to be accessible and am happy to have an honest conversation about fees during your free consultation.

  • I accept all major credit/debit cards, including HSA/FSA.

  • I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged a late cancellation fee of $100. I understand that life happens, if something unexpected comes up, please reach out as soon as possible and we can talk through it.

  • I currently offer teletherapy only, via a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform. I see clients throughout California.

  • No. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I provide talk therapy only and cannot prescribe medication. If medication feels like something worth exploring, I can support you in finding a psychiatrist or your primary care physician to discuss that alongside our work together.

  • Here's a simple breakdown:

    • Therapists/counselors (like me) provide talk therapy to help you work through emotional and mental health challenges. LCSWs, MFTs, and LPCCs all fall into this category.

    • Psychologists typically hold a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) and also provide therapy, and in some cases psychological testing and assessment. These are who you would see if you’d like to find out if you have ADHD.

    • Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health and primarily focus on diagnosing conditions and prescribing medication.

Many people work with both a therapist and a psychiatrist when medication and therapy together are the right combination.

  • I specialize in working with young adults (generally in their 20s and 30s) navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have particular experience working with law students, graduate students, LGBTQ+ individuals, members and former members of the LDS Church, neurodivergent clients, and fellow mental health professionals. If you're not sure whether I'd be a good fit for what you're going through, the best way to find out is to schedule a free consultation.

  • Most clients start with weekly sessions, which tends to build momentum and allows us to develop a strong working relationship. Depending on your needs and schedule, we may adjust frequency over time. We'll figure out what works best for you.
