Hi, I’m alexis hollingsworth.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker based in California, and I specialize in working with young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity challenges.

I’ve been providing therapy since 2022 and became independently licensed in 2025. But long before I was a therapist, I was someone struggling with depression and anxiety myself. In my early 20s, I often felt overwhelmed, stuck, and unsure of how to move forward. That phase of life—full of expectations, changes, and unknowns—can be incredibly isolating and honestly kind of scary. My own healing journey is what led me to this work. I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to feel lost, and I also know how powerful it can be to have support along the way.

In therapy, I aim to create a warm, affirming, and collaborative space where you can explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. I’m certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also draw from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practices to help you build emotional resilience, reconnect with your values, and feel more at home in your life.

I currently offer teletherapy to clients across California and feel honored to walk alongside those who are ready to begin their own journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.

My Approach

In therapy with me, I primarily use something called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT for short). It’s all about helping you make room for the thoughts and feelings that show up—especially the uncomfortable ones—without letting them run your life.

Instead of constantly trying to “fix” or fight your anxiety, we’ll work on building skills to relate to it differently. ACT focuses on helping you clarify what truly matters to you, and then take small, meaningful steps in that direction—even if doubt or fear comes along for the ride. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about showing up for your life in a more open, grounded, and values-based way.

I also pull from other tools like mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and polyvagal theory to support emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and help you build a stronger connection with yourself.
